The Types of Clove Cigarettes In the clove cigarette market there are two types of cigarettes made which are hand rolled and machine rolled. The hand rolled cigarettes can be divided into “Klobot” and “Kretek” cigarettes. The Klobot is a traditional cigarette and was the first ever type of clove cigarette made in Indonesia. A Klobot cigarette is made with a blend of clove and tobacco rolled into a dried corn leaf, held together by two strings. A kretek cigarette is made with a blend of clove and tobacco rolled into a cigarette paper. A Kretek cigarette is hold together by glue and is rolled with the help of a device which is manually operated. The machine-rolled cigarettes can be divided into “Filter” and “Mild” cigarettes. The Filter is the more general of the two and is made with a blend of clove and tobacco, the length is generally 90mm and has a diameter of 8.0mm. Tar and nicotine levels vary for each blend. The Mild is the newer of the two and is made with a blend of clove and tobacco, the length is 90mm with a smaller diameter of 7.0mm. Tar and nicotine levels generally do not exceed 15.9mg and 1mg. What We Make Bokormas still produces all types of clove cigarettes as one of the few remaining companies in Indonesia. This is because the traditional Klobot is not seen as part of the cigarette market anymore due to its small market and older aged consumers. The reason why we still produce the Klobot cigarette is because of the heritage it brings with it. Our core products are both in the Kretek and Filter type. However the whole industry is enjoying a rapid growth in the Mild type, and so are we. OUR PRODUCTS Filter / Machine Rolled
